Independent IT Consultant · Cloud-Native Platforms

I build and stabilize the software your business runs on — then hand you the keys.

A single senior engineer embedded with your team for 4–6 months: architecture, AI and automation features, payments, and the reliability practices to keep it running after I leave. No agency layer, no junior bench.

How a project runs

From first conversation to final handover

A defined process, so you always know what phase we're in, what it costs, and what happens if you need changes after delivery.

01

Discovery

Meetings & interviews

I meet with you and whoever else is involved in the solution — the people who'll actually use or run it — to understand how the business operates today and what it really needs.

02

Proposal

Written scope & pricing

You get a written project proposal with a few budget options to choose from. You approve it as-is or ask for changes before anything is scheduled.

03

Agreement & payment terms

Before work starts

Once you decide to move forward, we agree on how the project is paid: an upfront deposit plus installments, or fixed monthly payments for the length of the engagement.

04

Build, launch & review

The bulk of the engagement

The solution is built, delivered, and put into production. I do the work myself; on projects with tight deadlines I can bring in trusted contractors for specific pieces, always under my direct oversight. Once it's running, we gather feedback, test it under real use, and collect the changes that come out of that round.

05

Final delivery

Close of engagement

Those adjustments are made and delivered as the final version of the project. Anything requested after that point is treated as ongoing maintenance or a new, separate project.

What's included

Four things businesses usually need from this kind of engagement

Platform architecture & build

Backend, APIs, and admin/customer-facing dashboards designed to be extended by whoever owns the codebase next — not a personal framework only I understand.

AI & automation integration

LLM-backed chat and search features, document processing, and workflow automation (N8N) wired into tools your team already uses, scoped to what actually reduces manual work.

Payments & auth

Stripe billing and payment links, passwordless and social login, subscription access — the plumbing most platforms need but nobody wants to own.

Cloud reliability & DevOps

Infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting — the practice of keeping a system healthy, drawn from working as a Site Reliability Engineer, not just deploying and hoping.

Open-source e-invoicing library

Independent — used in production POS systems

About

Who you'd be working with

I'm a software engineer and IT consultant based in San José, Costa Rica — dual Costa Rican and Italian national, which in practice means I work comfortably across both Americas and European business hours.

I graduated with honors in Computer Science & Multimedia Technology from the University of Costa Rica, and have spent the years since moving between building things (platforms, APIs, developer tools) and keeping them running (as a Technical Lead at IBM/Kyndryl, and now as an SRE). A side project of mine, a VS Code extension called Line Highlight Bookmark, has been downloaded more than 9,000 times — a small proof that I care about shipping things other people actually use.

Consulting engagements sit alongside my full-time SRE role, which is exactly why they're structured the way they are: scoped, time-boxed, and built to leave your team self-sufficient rather than dependent on me.
